How It Works
Leeds CCTV is a revolutionary new security product from Kaleton Ltd bringing the concept of CCTV into the 21st century. Our service allows care home operators to keep an eye on their homes from anywhere in the world using the latest Internet enabled cameras and our secure, user friendly web site. Installed in your residential or nursing home following CQC (Care Quality Commission) guidelines, our service provides vital security and accountability while not affecting the privacy of your residents.
We provide the security cameras, the installation, the cabling, secure web access and full training for staff. Our clients receive a complete web-based CCTV package from us.
IP cameras are similar to regular CCTV cameras except they are designed to connect to the Internet. This means instead of your cameras connecting to a VCR, they connect to your broadband connection via wi-fi or ethernet cable just like your laptop does. The cameras support motion detection and can automatically take a series of digital photos or a short movie clip when someone walks past them. This is then automatically uploaded to your Leeds-CCTV.com account. You can access your recorded images, as well as a live stream, by logging into your account from anywhere that you have an Internet connection, including your BlackBerry, iPhone or other smart phone.
Images from your cameras are stored on our web servers for 7 days. Images over 7 days old are automatically deleted but you can download anything that you wish to keep onto your own PC very easily.
An additional benefit of our system over traditional CCTV is that an intruder gaining entry to your care home (or even a rogue member of staff) cannot steal the storage device that contains the evidence of their crime. An old school CCTV system in your care home would store footage on a VCR or DVR which is in the same building as the cameras. Once someone has gained entry to the building they can destroy or steal the video recorder thus removing the evidence. With our system, images of the intruder are instantly uploaded to our web servers and so are safely stored to be used as evidence.
Suitable Cameras
We have deliberately kept our system design as 'open' as possible so that our clients are not tied to a particular manufacturer or model of IP camera. That said, from trying out many different IP cameras we think Panasonic IP cameras are the best all-round products and we recommend these. Other popular manufacturers that we work with are Axis and Y-Cam.
Based on your unique needs (indoor/outdoor, wireless/wired, heat sensors, motion sensors etc) and your budget we will advise you on the best cameras for the job. We will then obtain these from our trusted suppliers at the best possible prices and pass these savings onto you.
Pricing
The pricing structure for using our system is very simple. There is an upfront one-off cost for purchasing the camera hardware and to cover the installation including all wiring. We can also do an optional training session with your staff to show them how to use the web based control panel, although this is actually quite straight forwards for anyone with basic computer literacy. We then charge a yearly hosting fee for using the cameras with our web based control system. If you have more than ten cameras to connect then discounts will be given.
Each client has different requirements and costs vary greatly based on the quality of camera required and the difficulty of the installation process. For this reason a full quote is always given based on your exact needs before any work is done.
What Now?
If you haven't already tried our demo camera you should do this to see for yourself what the system can do. Just click the 'client login' link on the menu and login with 'demo' as both the username and password.
Once you are ready to start the process, the first stage is simply to contact us to discuss your needs. We can then arrange a free, no obligation site survey if this is felt necessary. This will involve one of our engineers coming out to see you at your care home and looking at where the cameras need installing and where your broadband router is as well as any other factors that may affect the installation process. We will then be able to provide you with a quote detailing the cost of the cameras, the installation and the yearly hosting fee. Once you have approved the quote we can normally carry out the installation of your security camera system within 2 weeks.
